Georgia (Lange) Moore

Georgia Ann Walker was born at her Grandfather’s farm in Chesaning, Michigan. Georgia married Rod Lange in 1953.  They lived in the Detroit, Michigan area, where Rod worked for GM as an Engineer. The family moved to Texas in 1968 where Georgia studied sculpture under Octavio Medallin.  In addition to creating pieces on commission for her clients, she taught art at Calvary Lutheran School in Dallas in the mid 70’s.

In 1972, the family bought property just outside Winnsboro, TX, and over time built a home.  They moved permanently to that location 1980 and Built Bent Pine Gallery in 1983.

Active as a sculptor throughout the 80’s and 90’s, Georgia also taught Sculpture and Clay Processes at Northeast Texas Community College in the early 1990’s. Upon the death of her husband, Rod Lange in 2003, she closed her Gallery and devoted most of her efforts to working as a community volunteer, primarily with non-profit service organizations.

In November 2004, she married Al Moore and they began a joint effort in the arts under the name ‘Bent Pine Studios’.

Georgia’s work may be seen in her Gallery on this site, as well as at local museums in Pittsburg, TX and  Mt. Vernon, TX.  Her work is available for purchase at The Frame Up Gallery in Mt. Vernon, TX, and at Bent Pine Studios in Winnsboro, TX
